Youth talks and Football tournaments;
CHAWAKUA; times to times do local fund raising or asks individual people to support them with funds so that they conduct youth talk or organized football tournament to youth aged 14 to 24 years old in order to raise awareness on
Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH). In fact these activities are not conducted often due to lack of funds.

Youth talks or football tournament are usually organized by young people themselves who are CHAWAKUA Training of Trainers (TOTs) but with the financial support from CHAWAKUA.

Youth talks
Youth talks are organized by young people by selecting a place to go for education tour. However CHAWAKUA manages to solicit funds for hiring buses for transportation of youth to national parks, for buying soft drinks and bite for them, whereby the youth has to organize the date, time where to meet and the theme which will be discussed during the talks. The safaris normally starts early in the morning, and when we reach the parks the youth are taken around to see animals after that, we break for lunch (youth are asked to come with their lunch boxes) this is followed by different games which have been prepared by the peer educators, the games always makes the youth to knows each other very well at the same time minimizing the shyness among youth who are new to each other.

After the games youth are divided in groups and the TOTs goes to these groups and lead the discussion about the theme selected for the day. The youth are measured if they have understood the lesson by answering the questionnaires prepared by CHAWAKUA to measure the impact of what they were taught in that day. The recent youth talks them was early pregnancies to girls below the age of 18

Young people always enjoys about travelling to national parks as some of them had never been there, walking and the games also makes them very happy to the extent of requesting more safari for youth talks.

Football Tournament:
The same as youth talks, football tournament is organized by the youth, they are the ones who invites other teams from different wards of Arusha municipal and prepares the schedule for the teams who will play with whom, who will be the referees till the end of the tournament, and the themes to be discussed during the games.

CHAWAKUA here we are responsible for the gifts for the winners, the fees for the referees, first aids kits, hiring the public music system and other necessary needs, needed during the soccer.

Before the game CHAWAKUA drama group usually entertain the audience with songs and dances which caries the themes message, this is also done during the half times where by people are given time to asks questions or to answer questions asks by our TOTs. The tournament may take a month or two, this depends on the number of team selected

This method of raising awareness does not target only young people, because the game is played at the open field, and the music is played in between the  games, hence it attracts many people of different age; from 7 years to above 50 years old. During the tournament different themes are prepared, and different IEC materials are distributed
