Over the years, CHAWAKUA’s work has included the following:

Peer Education Program: Training and implementation of Peer Educators for both youth and adults in order to conduct HIV/AIDS and Sexually Reproductive Health education around Arusha region.

Education Entertainment Projects: Organizing and managing drama performance groups, football tournaments, material distribution and youth talks in order to reach thousands of young people with positive messages and information on HIV/AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Health.

Providing Supportive Care: Periodic care for orphans, widows, women and young people living with HIV/AIDS.
•
Counseling & Referrals: Offering HIV/AIDS counseling to those in need, and working directly with hospitals and clinics.
•
Stakeholder Networking & Cooperation: Operating and organizing umbrella networks of NGO’s. Working with community hospitals, NGO's and individuals to raise funds and execute projects for HIV/AIDS education.
•
Capacity Building: Organizing and participating in numerous trainings for staff, clients and Peer Educators in order to build their capacity to spread HIV/AIDS information, and maintain systems for its distribution.
