CHAWAKUA is run by a staff of volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts in the fight against AIDS.

Asha is one of the originating founders of CHAWAKUA, and has been with the organization since it’s inception in 1992. Asha has a Diploma in Medicine and a Masters in Community Economic Development. She is very passionate about improving the lives of youth, and helping women and children impacted and vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.

 Malima has been with CHAWAKUA since 1996 as  a preer  educator. in 2003 secretary/ cashier for the AYA project.She got trainning of trainers on life planning skills/behaviour change communication and lobbying and advocacy and become CHAWAKUA facilitator.In 2007 awarded Advanced diploma in Human resource Management from Institute of Social Work.
She manage all projects and activities of CHAWAKUA

Zenna has been with CHAWAKUA since 2003.  Zenna is one of the facilitators of the Train the Trainer program. She manages the education programs on Sexual Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, and Life Planning Skills within six wards throughout Arusha. Zenna also organizes sporting events for youth within the six wards to keep them occupied and send the message of HIV/AIDS.

Peter has been with CHAWAKUA since 2000.  Peter is the financial representative for CHAWAKUA.  He spends his time keeping the accounts, and is involved in organizing the budget and financial reports for donor proposals.  He is also the Facilitator for all the  Train The Trainer programs.

Simon has worked with CHAWAKUA since 2001.  He organizes and manages various activities such as ‘Youth Talk’, and facilitates workshops to youth about Life Planning Skills and Reproductive Health.  He is also responsible for the filming of all CHAWAKUA events.

Ericka has been with CHAWAKUA since 1994. Erika provides counseling services to patients with HIV/AIDS and educates families on how to properly provide Home Based Care to those in need (e.g. hygiene, nutrition and stigmitization reduction).
